Active Immunity

The Emergency Rooms at several East Valley hospitals were turning patients away yesterday, due to saturation of people needing care. It is the height of flu season, and there are so many of us who can be affected by this.

There are several easy things we can do to boost our immune system. One way is to drink more water. Water improves digestive efficiency, helps the kidneys flush toxins and helps the lymphatic system work properly.

A great self-help technique using hand reflexology is to place the tip of your left thumb in the center of your right palm. Using small little inch-worm movements, press along the area from the center of your palm outwards in all directions, to the edge of your wrist and up under the edge of your fingers. This activates the reflexes for the liver, solar plexus, gall bladder, spleen and other, lesser reflexes that will boost your immune system. Repeat on the opposite hand.  Do this exercise for 3-4 minutes on each hand, at least twice daily. Be sure to drink lots of water before and after each time this is done, to enhance the effect.

Foot Reflexology incorporates all these reflexes into a session that will boost immunity, drain lymph and improve well-being.

Happy Reflexing!
