I just posted this quote on Red Mountain Acupuncture’s Facebook page:
"The expectations of life depend upon diligence; the mechanic that would perfect his work must first sharpen his tools." - Confucius

I think (hope?) that we all struggle with our expectations from time to time. In my line of work, the health and wellness of my patients comes first; it is what I am most concerned about. My whole focus during the initial conversation with the patient and the subsequent acupuncture treatment is centered on providing relief and balancing my patients’ health.

It happens, from time to time, that my expectations of a “perfect” outcome are not met. It is a reminder for me that I have only applied the knowledge of the size of a saucer compared to the ocean of 5,000 years of traditional Chinese medical knowledge.

And so the quest for comprehension and wisdom never ends…
