Acupuncturists often use the point Liver 3 (Tai Chong) to give relief to all those that lead busy lives, work for a living, have many responsibilities and then struggle to find deep and restorative sleep. Liver 3 helps reduce anxiety and irritability and benefits sleep. If you are one of my patients, then you probably have noticed that this point can be quite tender when massaged or needled.
You can massage this point anytime you feel stressed or irritable and feel the need to “release some steam”. Or, you might want to give a little foot rub to somebody close to you, so that you indirectly benefit as well!
